Finish The Work You Started In Me

Abba Father, I know sometimes I fight against your will, but please finish the work you started in me. Father, in the name of Jesus, forgive me for being stubborn, rebellious, and believing I know what is best for me. I have made a mess of many things in my life, but you have always been here with me to guide me back to your will.

I thank you for your patience, long-suffering and unmerited love for me. Thank you for not giving up on me, even when I gave up on myself.

You see so much more in me that I have yet to tap into. You are always willing to show me and guide me to be who you have called me to be. You want me to live in my purpose, and I know it's the best place for me to be.

I know I get off track and distracted, yet you always pull me back to you, thank you. I have asked that your will be done in my life, and I run from your will too many times. I know I do it because it feels uncomfortable or it's not what I want, and I am sorry.

Please, have mercy on me and continue the work you have started in me. I can't promise that I won't kick against it. We both know how I can get, but I'm getting better at listening to you. Just don't stop guiding me to the finished end you have already created for me.

Please, keep your hook in me. Never allow the fire to burn out. Never allow me to stray so far that I can not find my way back to you. Please help me to stay close to your side.

I know what I am asking requires me to do more bending, releasing, and changing. I know it's not going to always feel good, and I won't like it. Yet let your will be done and comfort me when you know I feel it's becoming too hard to handle.

Abba, I love you. I am thankful for your loving-kindness and tender mercy. Thank you for sending your son Jesus so I can come before the throne of grace boldly. Thank you for loving me and calling me into your flock as your child.

In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
